Juno

Everybody's talking about Juno today. I saw it yesterday and it took all the way to the third act before it finally won me over. Flawed for sure, and all the quirky dialogue that everyone's so impressed by sounded fake, second-hand and grating to me. Ellen Page's performance saved it from being a total train wreck and in the end the train chugs nicely into the station right on time and leaves you with a positive impression. As far as it's abortion politics go, I thought it was fine for the most part, but a scene in which a Planned Parenthood-esque clinic is portrayed as the WORST PLACE EVER! was just too much. Those places are usually pretty nice and the girls that work there deserved better than the cheap shots they get in Juno.
